Law Enforcement
The Sheriff’s Office is subdivided into several divisions, one of which is the Law Enforcement Division. The Deputy Sheriffs of the Law Enforcement Division (LED) are responsible for many police functions in the unincorporated areas of Kanawha County. They patrol neighborhoods and highways, respond to 911 calls, investigate crimes and traffic crashes, and serve warrants. They also bailiff the courts of Kanawha County, serve domestic violence protective orders, and coordinate with federal, state, and other local agencies aiming to keep the public safe and serve the communities of Kanawha County.
